Registered Agent
Most states require an agent to receive legal notices. Without an active registered agent, your business may be considered delinquent.
If your business is considered delinquent, the state may deem your business inactive.
REGISTERED AGENT
Goals & Gold does not provide Registered Agent Service. We simply register with an authorized third-party Registered Agent company on your behalf. Your subscription starts when your filing documents are submitted to the state. This fee is not included in the price. The service renews automatically each year and is billed to your card. The renewal rate is subject to change. You may cancel at any time by calling us at (877) 755-5748 or visiting the link of your profile with the Registered Agent that we provide you. However, you will first need to appoint a new registered agent for your business before canceling. For more details, please free free to email us at RA@goalsandgoldco.com.
A registered agent may also be called a "Statutory Agent", "Resident Agent", "Clerk", or "Agent for Service of Process", depending on the state in which you are forming your entity.
Specifying a registered agent for your business is required by law, and the agent must either be (1) an adult individual living in the state of formation with a valid street address (no P.O. boxes), or (2) a company that is authorized to serve as an agent. The registered agent is designated to accept service of process on behalf of your company.
If you choose your own registered agent:
The agent must have a PHYSICAL address (no P.O. boxes) in the state of formation, and the name and address will become PUBLIC information on state records and internet searches.
The agent will receive "junk" mail solicitations on your behalf
Process servers will visit the address listed by the agent to deliver service of process (lawsuits, legal documents, etc).
If you choose Goals & Gold to supply you with a registered agent:
The Registered Agent’s information becomes public on state records and websites so your privacy is better protected
The Registered Agent accepts the service of process, and will promptly and discreetly forward all legal documents and official state correspondence that is received on your behalf
The Registered Agent archives and securely stores copies of all important mail that is received on your behalf, and can send you replacement copies if yours are lost or misplaced
What is an LLC?
A limited liability company (LLC) is a type of business entity you can register in your state. The main purpose of an LLC company is to limit the personal liability of its owners—like a corporation—but it also allows the business to operate with simpler, more flexible tax requirements.
Do I need an LLC?
An LLC isn’t always required, but many small business owners form an LLC for personal liability protection. Having an LLC can also help you open bank accounts, enter into contracts, hire employees, and get necessary business licenses and permits.
3 reasons for creating an LLC
Protect your personal assets
By forming an LLC and keeping your personal finances separate, your personal assets are protected from business liabilities.
Make things easier
Compared to corporations, LLCs are typically easier to start and have simpler rules for things like record-keeping.
Get tax flexibility
You get to decide how you’re taxed—as an LLC or a corporation—to maximize your potential savings and minimize tax liability.
Expedited Processing
Total turnaround times to form your business vary and can take several weeks—but you can upgrade to expedited Goals&Gold processing to get your business formed faster.*
COMPLIANCE
More Info
This service is extremely important. It helps ensure you keep the protection of having an LLC.
LLCs separate and protect your personal assets in the event that your company is sued. However, if you haven't followed strict compliance guidelines, this veil of protection can be pierced.
Requirements for compliance vary by state and company type, but typically may include:
File certain things at certain times (ie. on the annual anniversary of your business)
Keep a strict separation of personal and business assets/finances
Keep certain records
